Why This Reference Exists
Older resident directories do not answer every modern question, and the records that replaced them are held separately. The Clermont County Auditor and Recorder hold property and land-record layers. Registration information follows Ohio rules. The Batavia Branch and Clermont County Genealogical Society preserve historical tools. Batavia Township searches therefore often require several offices, each with its own access route, coverage, and limits. This reference organizes those starting points without claiming to be a government record source.
What You Will Find Here
- Pages by angle: the street directory for address-keyed records, the city directory for historical collections, and the resident lookup for one-person verification
- The rolls and offices: assessor, recorder, elections office, court clerk, vital records, the library's local history collection
- Walkthroughs: how to trace who lives on a street, how to read a directory entry, how to follow a household across the decades
- Access rules: what Ohio law opens, what remains protected, and how an Ohio Public Records Act request works when an item is not online
